Contemporary Marketing Management

A book you can ask

Contemporary Marketing Management is a university textbook: fifty chapters that trace marketing from its origins as a problem of distribution to the questions the discipline has to answer now, when value is created with people rather than extracted from them.

It is published in full, free to read. And you can ask it a question, in your own words, and get an answer back — not a search result, and not a summary written by a machine that has read the internet, but an answer built from the pages of this book alone.

Why the citations matter

Ask a general-purpose assistant about marketing myopia and it will tell you something plausible, assembled from everything it has ever read. It cannot tell you where that answer came from, and neither can you.

Ask this book, and the answer is assembled only from the passages that actually address your question. Every answer arrives with the sections it was drawn from — part, chapter, paragraph — so you can go and read them yourself. If the book does not address what you asked, it says so and points you to the chapter where the subject belongs, instead of inventing something agreeable.

That distinction matters more for a textbook than for anything else. A student who cannot verify a claim has not learned it.

Open on purpose

Most publishers put a textbook behind a platform and work to keep it away from AI systems. This one does the opposite. The whole text is public, and the site offers a documented search API and an llms.txt index so that external assistants can read the book and cite it properly, with the author's attribution attached, instead of paraphrasing it from memory.

Who it is for

For students preparing an exam, who need to find where a concept is treated and how the book frames it. For lecturers building a course, who need to know what the book says before assigning it. For practitioners who remember a framework and want the precise formulation rather than a half-remembered one. And for anyone who wants to argue with a book and have it answer back.

Common questions

Is the book free to read?
Yes. All fifty chapters are published in full on this site, with no account and no paywall. The licence is CC BY-NC 4.0: you may quote and summarise the book for non-commercial purposes, provided you credit the author and link to the passage you used.
How is this different from asking a general AI assistant?
A general assistant answers from everything it has read, and cannot tell you where a particular claim came from. This one answers only from the passages of this book that address your question, and shows you which ones they were — part, chapter and paragraph — so you can read the source yourself.
What happens if the book does not cover my question?
It says so, and points you to the chapter where the subject would belong, rather than assembling a plausible answer from outside the book.
Which language can I ask in?
Any. The book is written in Italian and the answer comes back in the language of your question, fully translated. Italian wording is kept only for terms the book itself coins or defines.
How many questions can I ask?
Three a month without signing up. An account removes the limit. Accounts are issued individually: write to informazioni@weevo.it and tell us who you are and what you need it for.
Can other AI systems read and cite the book?
Yes, and they are meant to. The site publishes an open search API and an llms.txt index, so an external assistant can query the book and cite it with attribution rather than paraphrasing it from memory.

Asking without limits

The book itself is free to read. What an account unlocks is the conversation: anyone can ask 3 questions a month without signing up — enough to see how the book answers — and an account removes the limit.

Accounts are issued individually rather than through self-service registration, so that we know who is using the book and can support students and institutions properly. Write to us and tell us who you are and what you need it for — a course, a class, a research project, your own study — and we will set one up for you.
